It’s time to address critical issues together as a region
It’s an inconvenient truth rattling our community’s self-image as a world class people place; Greater Charleston is a swell place to live and work, and a perfect place to experience the charm and hospitality of a forward-thinking Old South community.
But we are just not good at regional management and planning. And we never have been.
The deficiency is not about politics, nor elected leaders. This is about us — and our collective tolerance of a half-century of well-predicted unbridled development trends.
We’re good and getting better at attracting growth; we’re becoming one big place. It is high time to wonder — once again — what regional Charleston will look like and how it will function in another 50 years. [Read More at the Post & Courier]
