Zucker Family Graduate Education Center in North Charleston now realizing its vision
NORTH CHARLESTON — Galen Helfter sits in front of two giant computer monitors in his corner office on the 14th floor of Cascade Plaza in Akron, Ohio. The 24-year-old looks out over the landscape and manages a basic, yet succinct summary of his surroundings: “I seriously can’t believe this is my office.”
Next month, Helfter and four others will become the first graduates of the Zucker Family Graduate Education Center, part of Clemson University’s Restoration Institute innovation campus in North Charleston. Though it won’t become official until May 10, Helfter is already reaping the benefits of a soon-to-be master’s degree in digital production arts (DPA) by landing a job with Allegorithmic, a French-based visual effects company.
